The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) is the only Public University in Zanzibar established by Act No. 8 of the House of Representatives of 1999 which was amended by Act No. 11 of 2009 and reamended by Act No. 7 of 2016. Since its inception in 2002 it has been expanding in academic programmes as well as student enrolment. Its vision is to be the most preferred University in the Eastern Africa.
SUZA invites applications from suitably qualified and competent aspirants to be considered to fill the following vacant posts.
1. Assistant Lecturer of Medical Physiology
2. Assistant Lecturer of English Linguistics
3. Security Guard
1. Assistant Lecturer of Medical Physiology (One post)
Qualifications
i. Holders of Master of Science in Medical Physiology or M.Med Physiology with a GPA of not less than 3.5 at undergraduate level and GPA of 4.0 at post graduate level.
ii. Prior experience in teaching at University level is an added advantage.
iii. Applicants must have very good command of English language.
iv. Experience in Medical activities is an added advantage.
v. Basic skills in Microsoft office application is also an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. To undertake academic teaching, research and consultancy services in University and Community at large.
ii. To perform other University duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to him/her by higher University authorities.
2. Assistant Lecturer of English Linguistics (One post)
Qualifications
i. Holders of Master in English Linguistics or related field with a GPA of not less than 3.5 at undergraduate level and a GPA of 4.0 at post graduate level.
ii. Prior experience in teaching at University level is an added advantage.
iii. Experience in teaching Business Communication Skills at University level is compulsory.
iv. Basic skills in Microsoft office application is also an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. To undertake academic teaching, research and consultancy services in University and Communities at large.
ii. To perform other University duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to him/her by higher University authorities.
3. Security Guard (One post)
Qualifications
i. Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with JKU/JKT Security Training Course or Equivalent.
ii. Prior experience in Security services, using of Security equipment and knowledge of English language are added advantages.
iii. Should not be above 45 years old by February, 2019.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. To assist in daily routine beats around the campus so as to maintain peace and order.
ii. To guard properties of the University.
iii. To perform other University duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to him/her by senior officials.
