ABDULRAHMAN AL SUMAIT UNIVERSITY – ZANZIBAR

(SUMAIT UNIVERSITY) VACANT POSTS

Abdulrahman Al Sumait University (SUMAIT University) invites applicants from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the vacant posts for Medical Doctor (one post) and Medical Laboratory Technician (one post) for the University’s Al hajiry Dispensary.

Medical Doctor (one post)

Qualifications and Experience:

Must have a Degree in Medicine or equivalent from a recognized Institution with experience of not less than three years.

DUTIES and Responsibilities:

•        Examine diagnosis and treat patients. 

•        Prescribe, administer and dispense medication in accordance with the state law.

•        Documents all patient examination, treatment, medications and transactions according to SUMAIT University policies and procedures.

•        Evaluate the effectiveness of University current health care, environment methods and procedures and suggest improvement.

•        To refer patients’ to medical specialists.

•        May work long hours dictated by the needs of the patients.

•        Must be registered with the National Medical Board.

•        Performs any other duties that may be assigned to him or her by University Management.

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN. (One post)

Qualifications and Experience:

Must have a Diploma in Clinical Laboratory or equivalent from a recognized Institution with experience of not less than three years.

DUTIES:

•        To provide information for patient’s diagnosis treatment by performing Laboratory tests.

•        Maintain all medical equipment and materials.

•        Reports to the SUMAIT University Dispensary Doctor.

•        To perform basic laboratories procedures such as testing specimen and record results.

•        Performs any other duties that may be assigned to him or her by senior.

 Salary and Remuneration

It is accordance with University salary scale which is very attractive for the successful candidate.
