Job title: Solar Technician, Pemba

Reports to: Chief Technical Officer, Engineering Lead (Pemba)

Department: Engineering

Weekly Hours: 40

Position Overview:

Solar technicians will work to ensure the successful installation, commissioning, and operation of all Jaza Energy’s systems in the region. Initially you will work with the CTO to develop install solar energy systems. You will receive training to deploy and operate Jaza Energy’s technology.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Installation and commissioning of solar energy systems
• Test and repair energy system components
• Diagnose and repair control system malfunctions and faults
• Perform maintenance on energy systems
• Remotely monitor performance of energy systems
• Assemble energy system components to be used in installations
• Communicate with customers to help diagnose and resolve issues

Experience and skills:

• Strong English language skills
• Engineering University or Technical College education
• 1+ years engineering and technical experience preferred
• Experience with industrial electronic systems is preferred
• Experience with energy control systems is preferred
• Familiarity printed circuit boards is required
• Familiarity with computer programming is preferred

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Start Date: Immediately

Location: Based in Wete, Pemba for the next 6-12 months, with opportunity to transition to mainland Tanzania in the future.
