Job title: Technical Lead, Pemba

Reports to: Chief Technical Officer

Department: Engineering

Weekly Hours: 40

Position Overview:

The Engineering Lead is responsible to ensure the successful installation, commissioning, and operation of all Jaza Energy’s systems in the region. You will work with the CTO to develop technical designs, operational systems, and training programs.

Responsibilities:

• Produce solar energy and electrical system designs
• Lead the installation and commissioning of solar energy systems
• Test and repair energy system components
• Diagnose and repair control system malfunctions and faults
• Perform maintenance on energy systems
• Remotely monitor performance of energy systems
• Coordinate fabrication and assembly of components
• Develop budgets and manage timelines
• Manage inventory and coordinate procurement of technical supplies
• Dispatch and manage a team of technicians

Experience and skills:

• Strong English language skills
• Engineering university education
• 5+ years engineering and technical experience required
• Experience with industrial electronic systems is required
• Experience with energy control systems is preferred
• Familiarity printed circuit boards is preferred
• Familiarity with computer programming is preferred

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Start Date: Immediately

Location: Based in Wete, Pemba for the next 6-12 months, with opportunity to transition to mainland Tanzania in the future.
