Zanzibar Social Security Fund operates under the Zanzibar Security Fund Act No. 2 of 2005. Zanzibar Social Security Fund invites qualified Zanzibaris to fill 12 vacant posts as mentioned below;
1.1 Position: Registration Office Grade II (1 POST)
1.2. Location: Unguja-Zanzibar
1.3. Reports to: Principal Registration Officer
1.4. Duties and Responsibilities
- Register new employers and employees according to the required standards.
- Receive and keep records of members’ claims
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annually reports.
- Ensure that registration forms are dully filed.
- Reconcile SSF1,SSF2 and SSF4 forms.
- Ensure that form used to claim for benefit is correct and that necessary and related documents have been attached.
- Perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
1.5. Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor Degree in Social Security Administration, Social Work or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution and be competency in a relevant computer applications.
2.1 Position: Data Entry Officer Grade II (1 POST)
2.2. Location: Unguja-Zanzibar
2.3. Reports to: Principal Data Entry Officer
2.4. Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain records and assist ZSSF staff on proper use of records.
- Install and retrieve information.
- Make data Clearance periodically in accordance with the given instructions.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annually reports.
- To perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
2.5. Required Qualifications and Skills
Degree in social security administration, IT or Records Management or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute and be competent in a relevant computer applications.
3.1 Position: Risk Officer Grade II (1 POST)
3.2. Location: Unguja-Zanzibar
3.3. Reports to: Planning, Investment and Research Manager
3.4. Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and administers risk-management and loss-prevention programs.
- Assist in initiating policies to comply with safety standards and institutions practices.
- Assist in conducting Researches and reports on the most cost effective plans to minimize asset and financial liability.
- Assist in identifying day to day ZSSF’s Actuarial affairs or problems.
- Assist in analyzing and interpreting data using economic, statistical and actuarial principles and techniques
- Assist in management decision making in formulation of financial and investment policies.
- Assist in Identifying and analyzing areas of potential risk threatening the assets, earning capacity or success of ZSSF.
- Assist in helping management of risks and maximization of returns associated with investment products or credit offerings.
- Visiting site to assess risks
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annually reports.
- To perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
3.5. Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor degree Statistics or Economics or Actuarial science discipline or its equivalent from recognized University or Institute.
Working experience is an added advantage and be competent in a relevant computer applications
4.1 Position: Inspection and Compliance Grade II
4.2. Location: Unguja (1 POST) and Pemba (1 POST)
4.3. Reports to: Principal Inspection and Compliance
4.4. Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine, follow up and survey Inspections.
- Establish a reasonable course for registering employers and employees with the Fund
- Writing a report on the findings of Inspections conducted
- Coordinate and keep records of inspections and findings.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annually reports.
- To perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
4.5. Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor Degree in Social Security Administration or Human Resource Management or Economics or Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute and be competent in a relevant computer applications.
5.1 Position: Procurement and Supply Officer Grade II (1 POST)
5.2. Location: Unguja-Zanzibar
5.3. Reports to: Principal Procurement and Supply Officer.
5.4. Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all procurement and disposal activities of procuring and disposing entity as directed by the relevant rules and regulations.
- Support the logistic and preparation of the tender board.
- Implement the decisions of the Tender Board.
- Perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
Preferred: proficiency with Certified Procurement and Suppliers Professional (CPSP)
5.5. Required Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Procurement or Business Administration from recognized University or Institute. Working experience is an added advantage and be competent in a relevant computer applications.
6.1 Position: Computer system Administrator Officer Grade II (1 POST) Pemba
6.2. Location: Pemba Zanzibar
6.3. Reports to: Pemba Branch Manager
6.4. Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance of the Fund server and PC operating system software
- Implement computer security parameters to protect Fund’s computers and servers from outside threats such as hackers and virus.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on PCs, Servers and other IT related hardware.
- Configure and maintain network related services including, Local Extensions, DHCP, DNS, email system, web server and Proxy.
- Monitor and measure performance of the Servers to ensure high efficiency, server availability and pro-actively identifying problems.
- To perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor
- Required Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Computer Science or Network Systems Engineering, or Computer Systems Engineering.or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute; Certificate in professional Computer Systems Administration (such as MCSA/MCSE, A+) will be added advantage.
7.1 Position: Network Administrator Officer Grade II (1 POST) Unguja
7.2 Location: Unguja Zanzibar
7.3 Reports to: Principal Network System Administrator
7.4 Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs the administration processes and maintenance of the Active Directory / Microsoft Exchange™ Unified Messaging systems.
- Plans and coordinates the installation of new releases and system software. Installs and tests new system software releases and place them in production mode after successful testing. Troubleshoots problems with system software and implements resolutions. Monitors systems for performance and security.
- Develops and operates Storage™ (SAN, NAS), backup and disaster recovery plans, and an enterprise antivirus patch management infrastructure.
- Evaluates equipment and software capability; researches and resolves problems; makes technical recommendations.
- Researches and evaluates information technology hardware and software system requirements; configures, installs and maintains server hardware and software when applicable. Recommends, implements, and ensures systems security.
- Provides tier three operational support as needed.
- Develops and maintains physical and virtual server provisioning.
- Assists other ITS staff in the use of the system software.
- Reviews vendor software bulletins to prevent potential problems; installs updates and modifications as required; confers with program product vendors regarding new product releases and problem resolutions.
- Prepares client, operations and systems documentation according to pre-established standards.

Knowledge:
- Principles, methods and procedures of operating computers and applicable servers
- Data management techniques including data security and disaster recovery systems and procedures Server administration in a secured environment
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Core Enterprise™ services
- Thorough knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SMTP and other core protocols
7.5 Required Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Computer Science or Network Systems Engineering, or Computer Systems Engineering.or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute; and Certificate in Professional Network Systems Administration Courses (such as CCNA) will be added advantage
8.1 Position: Accountant Grade II (1 POST)
8.2 Location: Unguja-Zanzibar
8.3 Reports to: Finance and Accounting Manager
8.4 Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly trial balance and Bank reconciliation statement.
- Prepare financial statement
- Scrutinize payment vouchers.
- Maintain debtors and creditors records
- Receive and keep incoming bills and claims
- Maintain primary books of accounts.
- Collect and compile accounting data
- Assisting in the preparation of payment requisition
- Assisting preparation of voucher for various activities.
- To perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
8.5 Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor degree in Certified Accountancy or Financial Management or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute; with a working experience of not less than three years in that field and be competency in relevant computer applications.
9.1 Position: Human Resources Officer Grade II (1 POST)
9.2 Location: Unguja-Zanzibar
9.3 Reports to: Human Resources Manager
9.4 Duties and Responsibilities
- As for Assistant Human Resources Officer Grade I with added responsibilities
- Processing applications for vacant posts, short listing of applicants and make arrangement for interviews.
- Administer staff recruitment, promotion, dismissal, leave and other administrative matters.
- Preparation of short and long term training progamme.
- Formulate and implement scheme of service
- Keeping up-to-date staff records.
- To perform any other duties assigned by his/her supervisor.
9.5 Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor degree in Public Administration /Personnel management/ Business Administration/Labour studies/Human Resources Management or its equivalent from a recognized university/Institution and be competent in a relevant computer applications.
10.1 Position: Voluntary Social Security Scheme (VSSS) Officer Grade II (1 POST)
10.2 Location: Unguja-Zanzibar
10.3 Reports to: Planning and Investment Manager
10.4 Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish a reasonable course for registering voluntary employers and employees with the Fund.
- Collect a monthly contributions payment in accordance with the prescribed schedule and terms of contributions;
- Conduct routine, follow up and marketing survey.
- Update or correct member personal and contributions records.
- Collect and analyze the authentication of members supporting documents
- Review and improve VSSS policies and benefit structure.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annually reports.
- Provide public awareness on VSSS.
- To perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
10.5 Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor Degree in Social Security Administration or Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute and be competent in relevant computer applications.
11.1 Position: Drivers Grade III (3 POST)
11.2 Location: Unguja-Zanzibar
11.3 Reports to: Human Resources Manager
11.4 Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive any allocated ZSSF’s motor vehicle
- Maintain and keep the vehicle in proper working condition.
- Maintain records of vehicle movement
- Maintain log book.
- Perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
11.5 Required Qualifications and Skills
National Secondary Education Examination Certificate (form IV) with at least three passes in any subjects. Must have a valid driving license of class ‘C’ with a driving experience of not less than three years and a certificate of competent and be computer literate
12.1 Position: Registry Clerk II (2 POST)
12.2 Location: Unguja-Zanzibar
12.3 Reports to: Human Resources Manager
12.4 Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the central filing system, including the preparation of new files,
- Maintain supporting index systems,
- Retrieval of information, review of information kept and destruction of files in accordance with current requirements.
- Maintain the legal documents indexing system ensuring effective retrieval of information, and accuracy of recording systems.
- Ensure that all files and legal documents are checked in and out of the system in accordance with current procedures.
- Ensure filing of documentation is undertaken on a frequent basis.
- Control file movement order.
- Perform any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
12.5 Required Qualifications and Skills
Ordinary Diploma in Record Management or its equivalent from a recognized Institute and be competent in relevant computer applications.
GENERAL CONDITIONS

- Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) and National Council for Technical Education (NACTE);
- Certificates from Foreign Universities should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU);
- Presentation of forged certificates and other information will necessitate to legal action
